Devices & control
One account, many phones · Termary Pro
Watch from every phone, but only one steers at a time. Everyone gets notifications; the Controller types — hand it over with a tap.
Sign in on as many devices as you like — your iPhone, an iPad, an old phone on the desk. Every one of them watches your agents live and gets every notification. Only one holds the keyboard at a time, so two people (or two phones) never fight over the same shell.
Controller vs Observer
- Controller — the one device in charge. It can type, run keys, spawn agents, and change the Mac's theme.
- Observer — every other device. It watches the live terminal, sees diffs and status, and gets all notifications — the keyboard is just parked behind a Take control button.
Nothing to assign and no roles to manage: whichever device holds control is the Controller, everyone else observes. Opening the app never steals control — you take it on purpose.
Take control
On an Observer, tap Take control — on the terminal's reply bar, the top banner, or from Account → Devices & control. Control moves to your device instantly; the previous Controller drops to watching (it stays connected and keeps getting notifications). Hand it back any time.
Your devices
- Open Account → Devices & control to see every device on your account and which one is the Controller.
- Rename a device so "iPhone" becomes "Desk iPad" or "iP15" — the name shows everywhere control is mentioned.
- From another device's ••• menu, choose Make controller to hand it the keyboard.
What every device keeps
Being an Observer only removes typing. Notifications, the Home Screen widget, the Live Activity, the live mirror, and diffs all work on every signed-in device, exactly the same. A spare phone makes a perfect always-on monitor.
Why it's locked
The limit is account-wide and enforced by your Mac — the Mac itself only accepts keystrokes from the current Controller, so control can't be shared around, even across different Macs. If your Mac ever can't check who's in control, it fails open, so a network blip never locks you out of your own machine.
Multi-device control is part of the iPhone companion, a Termary Pro feature.
